Writing in the Gallery: radical play

“In Winter 2024, Union Gallery ran a pilot project: a student writers’ group, facilitated by the UG Board of Directors. Bolstered by visiting artist Adrien Crossman’s writing workshop, the group got together periodically over several months to write, edit, and reflect on radical play.

The three pieces featured in this zine—two essays and an interview—were written by members of the group in response to The Pronoun Project (student artist Hill Werth), haven (visiting artist Adrien Crossman), and quién se come a quién (student artist Valerie Camila).

This zine is by no means a full catalogue of the gallery’s 2023-24 curatorial year—we’d need a much heftier stapler for that—but rather a sample of the student writing and collaborative practice that has come out of this experiment.”

The print edition of this zine can be found at the gallery or purchased online through the UG shop.
